We believe that democracy works best when everyone participates!
We need your help expanding the vote in NC! We train and mobilize volunteers to effectively share information about upcoming elections, help voters to register and understand their rights, and remind voters when and where to cast their ballot.
Karen Blase commented on Share a Story! 2016-07-14 13:50:22 -0400Recently I was passing out voting information and a man sadly shook his head and said, “I can never vote, I’ve got a felony.” I asked if this was recent and was he on probation. He said, “No, I paid my debt long ago.” When I told him he could vote he replied with a huge smile and said, “Then let’s get me registered.”
Volunteers are working together and in the community. Our best stories come from the our volunteers and organizers...
Stories of citizens who thought they could never vote becoming registered voters.
Stories of people who thought they would be unable to vote because of lack of ID.
Stories of people being truly grateful for our information.
Stories of volunteers making new friends or encountering friends they haven't seen in years!
Stories of humor & joy from all the different people we encounter.
Stories of patience, kindness, and acceptance.
Please take a minute to tell us a story!
Karen Blase commented on You Can Vote Tips for Voter Registration 2015-09-25 15:25:47 -0400Great videos. Clear advice, what to do and what to avoid. Also great rationales about why we provide this information and why we need to interact this way. I feel much more confident that I can do this now. Thank you for all the time and effort that went into these videos.
