Programs
You Can Vote’s programs increase civic engagement among groups that have historically been targeted for voter suppression in NC. We educate individuals and groups about government, prepare them to cast their ballots, and empower them to get involved and advocate for the changes they want to see in their communities.
Voter education and engagement
Voter Education and Engagement
We educate, register, and empower voters to participate in elections, ensure their registrations are up-to-date, distribute trusted and accurate information about voting requirements in North Carolina, and connect individual and community values to items on their ballots.
Voting Rights Champions
Through our Voting Rights Champions program, we train and equip trusted community organizations to empower NC voters in their networks. The program is grounded in the belief that informed participation is the foundation of a healthy democracy, and that trusted, local messengers are essential to making that participation possible.
NC Civic Fellowship Program
NC Civic Fellowship Program
Our NC Civic Fellowship Program turns college students into campus leaders with training, tools and leadership development opportunities. The program leverages partnerships across the state with HBCUs, community colleges and other institutions to educate and register voters on campus.
ACTIVATE
Our ACTIVATE program provides an inquiry-based learning experience designed to increase civic engagement among 11th and 12th graders. Through active discussion and a focus on practical skill-building, the program activates young people to seek out trusted information, make personal connections, take informed civic action, and get pre-registered to vote.
Vote Early NC
Vote Early NC
We love early voting! Voters can use same-day registration, fix problems with their registration on the spot, vote at any early voting site in their county — and lines are usually short! During early voting, our team pitches orange tents outside early voting sites to help voters learn what’s on their ballot, use same-day registration, address issues they may encounter when voting, and encourage their friends and family to cast their ballots.
