About

Through our Voting Rights Champions program, launched in 2020, You Can Vote trains and equips trusted community organizations to empower North Carolina voters in their networks. The program is grounded in the belief that informed participation is the foundation of a healthy democracy, and that trusted, local messengers are essential to making that participation possible.


Who can join

Any nonpartisan* group or organization, including (but not limited to):

  • Associations

  • Businesses

  • Colleges/Universities

  • Community colleges

  • Community groups

  • Faith groups

  • Health care providers

  • Libraries

  • Nonprofits

* Candidate and party committees, 501(c)(4) nonprofits and other partisan groups are not eligible.


What Champions do

  • Educate: Inform voters about elections, voting rights, and what’s on the ballot using nonpartisan messaging.

  • Register: Help voters verify their registration address and register or re-register to vote.

  • Mobilize: Promote early voting and Election Day through voter education and outreach.
