Announcing the 2023-2024 Register Her NC Civic Fellows!
You Can Vote and Register Her have partnered to recruit, train, and deploy two Register Her Civic Fellows on college campuses in North Carolina. The Register Her Civic Fellows are part of You Can Vote’s NC Civic Fellows Program and have an additional emphasis on registering, educating, and empowering female-identifying voters.
Register Her promotes and creates women-centered and women-led voter registration efforts nationwide. Their guiding principle is to identify, partner with, and elevate female-identifying leaders within their communities to spearhead voter outreach and ensure eligible women, especially those from underserved communities, receive the resources, civic education, and support to exercise their right to vote successfully.
YCV Civic Fellows work with teams of students across the state to empower students to make their voice heard in upcoming elections. Fellows will make an impact in their communities and on their campuses while developing nonpartisan communication, organizing, and leadership skills. This is a paid leadership development opportunity open to students across NC.
YCV is excited to amplify the voices of female voters in NC through this new partnership with Register Her! Read on to learn more about our 2023-2024 Register Her Civic Fellows.
Meet the 2023-2024 Fellows:
Emily Linares-Perez
YCV & Register Her Fellow Emily Linares-Perez grew up in Winston-Salem and is a current student at UNCG majoring in Computer Science. Emily is returning to YCV for her second year, acting as a lead fellow. She loves meeting new people and letting them know that they can express their voices and citizen power through voting! Emily is pictured right at a recent voter education event with YCV staffer Dominique Bradley.
Anna Fink
YCV & Register Her Fellow Anna Fink is originally from Greensboro, NC, and just started her senior year at UNC-Wilmington pursuing a Bachelor’s in Social Work with a minor in psychology. She participated in service learning with You Can Vote last year, and is very excited to have the opportunity to work with YCV again! As a Fellow, she hopes to register the Wilmington community to vote and educate them on ever-changing voting laws and the best ways for them to exercise their right to vote.
