Gearing Up for a Summer of Civic Action!

The temperature is heating up, and so is our political climate.

People power is on the rise, and there are a lot of ways to get civically active this summer!

Whether you're volunteering with YCV or taking action with another group, here are a few tips and resources for the activists among us:

  1. Stay Safe: Whether you're heading to a protest or planning for an emergency, the Human Rights Campaign's "Tips for Preparedness, Peaceful Protesting, and Safety" can help make sure you're ready for any situation that may arise.

  2. Know Your Rights: The right to free speech and assembly are crucial for a functioning democracy. Learn more about your rights from the ACLU of North Carolina.

  3. New to Activism? The Every Day Activism Network has published a series of short guides on topics ranging from how to increase civic engagement, how to build collective climate action, how to support food justice, how to be anti-ableist, and more! Click here to explore and learn more.

  4. Share Voter Information: Download and print flyers from our website to take with you to non-YCV events. Ask people to scan the QR code to check their registration, learn when they're voting next, and make sure they're ready to cast their ballots. Printable handouts and flyers are always available FREE at youcanvote.org/handouts

  5. Become a YCV Champion: Want to share information about upcoming information with the voters in your network? Sign up to be a YCV Voting Rights Champion and get notified as soon as new voter education toolkits and materials are available. Visit youcanvote.org/champions to sign up now.
