You Can Vote is celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2024! Since 2015, I’ve been proudly wearing my You Can Vote shirt and volunteering with this organization to register and educate voters, “captain” teams of volunteers, provide a safe area for voters to get information at the polls, and more.

I support You Can Vote because I like their effective strategy. As a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, YCV can go to events and partner with institutions that partisan groups cannot access. They focus on young, recently moved, infrequent, and formerly disenfranchised voters. And, as a woman of science, I love that YCV uses evidence-based methodologies and data-driven decision-making!
The results speak for themselves: voters educated and registered by You Can Vote turn out to vote at several percentage points higher than the general public, especially with young voters ages 18-24. And their growth has been meteoric, from serving 1 NC county in 2014 to 64 counties in 2023!

Over the last 10 years, You Can Vote has:
Helped over 100,000 North Carolinians get registered to vote!
Educated over 1 million voters face-to-face about the who, what, when, where, and WHY of voting!
Trained over 200 NC Civic Fellows to educate and register voters on 50 college campuses!
Built a network of over 650 community partner organizations that help us reach our target populations!
Equipped over 6,000 volunteers across NC with the knowledge they need to accurately register and educate voters!
So far in 2023, YCV has registered over 8,000 voters and–with your support–plan to register over 24,000 voters in 2024! Accomplishing this will involve educating 240,000+ citizens in communities and schools.
