4 Ways to be a Voting MVP in 2024

1. BECOME A POLL WORKER

There is a huge shortage of poll workers across the state! They especially need election workers who are tech savvy and able to use computer systems.

For the primary elections, the need is especially severe in Forsyth, Johnston, Buncombe, Watauga, Yadkin, Perquimans, Surry, Stanly, and Nash counties--which have reported that they are short dozens of poll workers!

Know someone who lives in and is currently a registered voter in one of these counties? Send them to this link to sign up.

2. GET TRAINED TO EMPOWER VOTERS

There is a new VR form in NC and all YCV volunteers must be retrained before they can go to a YCV event to educate, register, and empower voters. We have virtual trainings several times each month! Visit youcanvote.org/training to sign up.

Already attended a training in 2024? We need you out in the field talking to voters! There are dozens of events where we need help across the state. Visit youcanvote.org/events to find one near you.

3. SHARE VOTING INFO WITH YOUR NETWORKS

You may have already made your voting plan, but what about your friends, neighbors, coworkers, and community members?

YCV has free toolkits with downloadable graphics, sample emails and social media posts, and printable posters that you can use to educate the voters in your networks about the 2024 primary election. Visit youcanvote.org/toolkits to get free resources to share.

4. LEARN WHAT'S ON YOUR BALLOT

Get educated about the races on your ballot and the importance of voting in every election!

Step 1: Find your sample ballot and see which races you're voting for this spring. Visit youcanvote.org/lookup to find it today!

Step 2: Learn about the offices on your ballot and how they impact your life. YCV's "What's on the Ballot?" tools can help you learn which offices influence the issues you care about the most. Visit youcanvote.org/wob to learn more.

Step 3: Research candidates using trusted, nonpartisan sources. The NCSBE just released a nonpartisan judicial voter guide and VOTE411 will be releasing information about all races in the NC primary elections soon.
